Disneyland Paris has opened a new, large-scale McDonald’s restaurant in its Disney Village entertainment district. This opening follows the permanent closure of the previous McDonald’s location, which will be demolished as part of a broader revitalization effort.

For decades, the original McDonald’s served as a consistent and affordable dining option for guests transitioning between the theme parks and their accommodations. It was a familiar quick-service fixture in the Disney Village landscape.

The new establishment represents a joint investment of €20 million by Disneyland Paris and McDonald’s France. This capital commitment underscores a strategy to modernize and elevate the guest experience within Disney Village.

The new McDonald’s spans three floors, offering seating for 600 guests. This includes 200 seats on outdoor terraces. Features designed for high-volume service include 23 self-service kiosks, dual kitchens, five dumbwaiters, and a panoramic elevator. A three-story indoor play area is also integrated into the facility.

Sustainability was a key design principle. The building incorporates 250 square meters of solar panels and 350 square meters of green space on its roof and in planters. A 120-square-meter living wall further promotes biodiversity. The structure is compliant with RE2020 environmental regulations, and 75% of raw ingredients are sourced from French producers.

Operational efficiency has been streamlined. In addition to the self-service kiosks, guests can order food directly to their tables via QR codes and geolocation technology. The spacious reception area and expanded kitchen capacity aim to reduce congestion and wait times, particularly during peak visitor seasons at Disneyland Paris.

This McDonald’s opening is part of an extensive overhaul of Disney Village. Recent additions include retail locations like Disney Style, Disney Glamour, Deco by Disney, and a new LEGO Store. A Petite Rosalie terrace restaurant has also opened, with Casa Giulia, an Italian restaurant, expected to launch in the former Planet Hollywood space later this year.

The update has generated varied responses among park visitors. Some guests have expressed appreciation for the scale and modern design, viewing it as a necessary enhancement for the district. Others have voiced nostalgia for the original building, which had been a part of their park experience for many years.

The strategic intent is clear: Disneyland Paris is repositioning Disney Village as a polished, destination-worthy extension of its theme parks. The new McDonald’s location is a significant component in this effort, designed to provide a high-capacity, modern, and sustainably focused dining option that aligns with the evolving guest expectations for the entire resort.
