Disney Genie+ Now Park-Specific at Walt Disney World

Estimated read time 4 min read

Disney has announced that its Genie+ service will now be park-specific at Walt Disney World. This means that guests will only be able to purchase Genie+ for the park they are currently visiting.

The change was made in response to guest feedback. Many guests felt that it was unfair that they had to pay for Genie+ for all four parks, even if they were only planning to visit one or two parks.

The park-specific Genie+ service will go into effect on June 27, 2023. Guests will be able to purchase Genie+ for either Magic Kingdom or Epcot for $15 per person, per day. Genie+ for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom will cost $16 per person, per day.

Genie+ allows guests to book Lightning Lane reservations for select attractions. Lightning Lane is a virtual queue that allows guests to skip the standby line.

Guests can also use Genie+ to make dining reservations and get recommendations for experiences throughout the parks.

The park-specific Genie+ service is a welcome change for many guests. It will allow guests to save money if they are only planning to visit one or two parks. It will also make it easier for guests to plan their day, as they will only have to focus on one park at a time.

How to Use Genie+

To use Genie+, guests will need to download the My Disney Experience app. Once they have the app, they can select the park they are visiting and then purchase Genie+.

Once guests have purchased Genie+, they will be able to book Lightning Lane reservations for select attractions. Reservations can be made starting at 7:00 AM on the day of the visit.

Guests can book up to two Lightning Lane reservations at a time. Once they have used their first Lightning Lane reservation, they can book another one.

Lightning Lane Reservations

Lightning Lane reservations are available for a limited number of attractions each day. Reservations are released in batches, so guests need to be quick to book their desired attractions.

If a guest is unable to book a Lightning Lane reservation for their desired attraction, they can still join the standby line. However, the standby line can be very long, so guests may want to consider using Genie+ to skip the line.

Other Genie+ Features

In addition to Lightning Lane reservations, Genie+ also offers a variety of other features. These features include:

  • Individual Lightning Lane: Individual Lightning Lane is a separate service that allows guests to book Lightning Lane reservations for select attractions that are not included in Genie+. Individual Lightning Lane reservations are more expensive than Genie+ reservations.
  • Dining Reservations: Genie+ allows guests to make dining reservations for restaurants throughout the parks.
  • Park Reservations: Genie+ allows guests to make park reservations. Park reservations are required for all guests visiting Walt Disney World.
  • Recommendations: Genie+ provides guests with recommendations for experiences throughout the parks. These recommendations are based on the guest’s interests and past experiences.
